We had a great week of normal hours last week. It is nice to be able to get into a routine. We talked about the importance of the sun -- which included herbivores and carnivores. We also began to learn about insects. Insects have six legs and two antennae. We counted spider legs and learned that it is not an insect. We also learned about ladybugs and butterflies. We will learn more next week. We have 5 painted lady caterpillars that may have made chrysalis over the weekend. I was also able to find a large monarch caterpillar that I hope will stay a caterpillar until Tuesday morning.
We put some activities in our courtyard area which the children are able to use in the afternoons. They enjoyed their time there.
Thank you for the updates. It is fun to hear what the kids are up to. Zoey has been talking about carnivores quite a bit this week. Now I know why!! We found a website to watch a caterpillar make a chrysalis and become a butterfly. So she is quite excited about the process happening in her classroom.
